It is 2016. We know that black lives matter but are still frequently undervalued. We know that race unity is still the most challenging social issue confronting American society. But the emotions evoked by racism and its legacy are complex, whether we personally identify as black, white, Asian, indigenous, immigrant, Persian, or some combination thereof.
Increasing visibility of Muslims in America and elsewhere
on the global stage is forcing us to re-examine our attitudes and feelings toward people of many faith communities including Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus and more.
This workshop is designed to help individuals develop personal tools for reaching across these “divides” and building community with our diverse brothers and sisters. It affirms the principles of the nobility and oneness of humankind and helps us create “safe spaces” to examine our differences, come to terms with our difficult social history, and build unity. It is one step towards building a society that we and our children can be proud of!
